Favourites should have field day in Reggae 6

SUNDAY's Reggae 6 payout of $194,603 was marked by losing favourites with stinging upsetters thrown in for good measure on what was predictably a tough day for even the most seasoned punter.

BOBBYTWOBAD making all in the third at odds of 5-1 rocked the Reggae 6, which was further jolted by RALPH'S TREASURE landing the fifth at 9-1.

Dodgy form made it a tough day all around, which could be reversed on Saturday should the Reggae 6 favourites perform as expected.

Jason DaCosta's STARRAURA returns off a lengthy break, not raced since finishing third behind PERFECT AFFAIR and COSALIVIN in March. However, the three-year-old filly showed enough in two starts earlier this year, third on debut behind HANSA and LINGUIST, to get the nod among maidens at five and a half furlongs in November.

MS CHERRY should benefit from INDESTRUCTIBLE's habit of leaving the gate slowly to land the second at five furlongs round. Should INDESTRUCTIBLE give away lengths at the start, that could result in a battle with fellow speedster SMART TRICK, even better for MS CHERRY to pounce.

TIGRAY EXPRESS is back among $500,000 claimers, who he has dominated all season, making him the safest banker of the day in the third at six and a half furlongs.

Similarly, TIGERAMEDAT, a $500,000 winner of his previous race, is back at Anthony Nunes' barn on a void claim, no ailment associated with the five-year-old but rather a spelling error committed by whomever wrote up the claim form.

NEWLAND LINKS gets the nod in the fifth at five furlongs straight among five-year-olds, non-winners of two races. Close all bets with THE REAL IDENTITY, who should mow down rivals at six and a half furlongs in the sixth.
