Hype Type says it’s time to clean up Jamaica
Florida-based dancehall artiste Hype Type calls for change in Jamaica in his new single Clean Up.
"After 63 years of independence, we're still a struggling nation. Many aspects of everyday life in Jamaica have improved since independence, but we still need to change a lot of things. As a Jamaican living abroad, I'm very concerned about my country. I'm tired of hearing about all this crime and violence. It's high time the leaders fix things and clean up Jamaica," said Hype Type.
The track, which was produced by him and released on his Zion City Records imprint on October 9, will be featured on his upcoming EP. The six-track project, which is in the final stages of production, is scheduled for released before year end.
"We're currently putting the finishing touches on this project. As soon as all the songs are mixed and mastered, it will be released. We haven't set a date yet, but it's definitely going to be out before the end of the year."
The Kingston-born deejay is currently preparing to visit Jamaica to shoot music videos for three songs off the EP, including Clean Up.
