Cell phone robber pleads guilty
A St Catherine man who pleaded guilty to robbing a schoolboy of his cellular phone is to be sentenced on November 14.
Charged with robbery is 18-year-old Kenroy Douglas, otherwise called 'Squaddy' of Glengoffe district. Douglas gave his plea when the matter was mentioned in the St Catherine Parish Court last week. Senior Parish Court Judge Janelle Nelson-Gayle then ordered that Douglas be remanded. A social enquiry report and a fingerprint order were also made to aid in sentencing.
Reports are that on September 12, the complainant was walking to school in Glengoffe, when he was held up and robbed of his cellular phone by Douglas who was armed with a knife. A report was made at the Glengoffe Police Station and an investigation was conducted. A search was conducted at Douglas' home where the cellular phone was discovered.
He was arrested and subsequently charged with robbery following a question and answer session.
