Girlfriend admitted she worked as a prostitute

September 30, 2025

Dear Pastor,

I am 24 and my fiancee is 30. I love her with my heart, body and soul. I met her at a bar and I offered to pay for her drinks.

I asked her what a lovely woman was doing in a bar and she said she only stopped to have a drink. She had on a tight, short skirt and I had to help her to sit on the stool. She said she had broken up with her boyfriend and she only stopped for a drink and to get her mind off him.

She asked me if I had a girlfriend and I told her no, but I would be interested in her if she and I could hit it off. That evening we drove around for a while and then I took her home. I watched her as she went through her gate and opened her door before I drove off. I could not get this girl out of my mind, so about midnight, I called her and she assured me that she didn't have a man. Since then, this young woman and I have been going together. Neither of us has any children.

One of the problems I am having is that she is older than I am and I always wanted a girl who is younger. Another problem I am having is that in getting to know her, I realised that she has done some work as a prostitute when things were rough with her and she could not pay her rent. She told me the truth, but she said it was not a regular thing that she does. How can I be sure that she would not continue to sell her stuff to other men? Do you think I should take the chance with this girl? Please give me your advice.

J.B.

Dear J.B.,

This is a very new relationship, so I would suggest that you should not rush into anything with this woman.

You are fortunate that she has told you that she was engaged in prostitution. You cannot be absolutely sure that she has stopped that lifestyle. It might be very easy for her to go back to that lifestyle whenever she is broke and you are not able to provide for her. So please, sir, be careful. If you are tempted to have sex with this girl, make sure you use protection.
