A $30-million cocaine bust at Sangster International Airport has sent detectives on the hunt for a St Elizabeth farmer they believe is linked to this high-stakes drug probe.

Detectives from the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division (FNID) are now seeking the public's help in locating Renaldo Brooks, as investigations intensify into the seizure of more than 100 pounds of cocaine at the Montego Bay airport on Monday night.

Police say that about 7:00 p.m., irregularities were detected during an electronic scan of a suitcase that was being prepared for a flight to Canada. A search of the luggage reportedly uncovered multiple sachets stuffed with cocaine, with an estimated street value of $30 million.

Director of FNID, Superintendent Patrae Rowe, said the seizure is a direct result of heightened monitoring at Jamaica's ports.

"We are maintaining a high level of vigilance at our ports of entry. This seizure underscores our commitment to disrupting the narcotics trade and ensuring that those who attempt to use our airports for criminal activity are brought to justice," Rowe said.

Investigators believe Brooks can provide vital information in relation to the seizure and are urging him to report to FNID headquarters or the nearest police station.

Anyone with information that can assist the investigation is being asked to contact FNID at 876-923-6184, call 119, or reach out to the nearest police station.
